WHO WE ARE
Hope for Women and Children- Sierra Leone, abbreviated as (HWC-SL) Started as a Community Based Organization (CBO) in 2019. As a CBO, the organization faced a lot of challenges which among others were limited scope of intervention, lack of capacity and access to funds to fully implement activities. The founder Mr. Alisious Bundu identifying some challenges has decide to make the necessary amendment and agreed to register the organization as a National/Non-Governmental organization in 2022. Currently, HWC-SL is registered as a charitable National Non-Governmental Organization (NNGO) with the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development (MoPED), Ministry of Gender and Children Affair. And Moyamba Local District Council in the Republic Sierra Leone, West Africa with a vision to lead communities where women and children can live, work and play to protect the rights of all. It’s mission is to engage communities to empower women for sustainable development and support children for the better future.
It’s hoped to connect communities and create inclusive opportunities through managing projects that will unpin long-term sustainable development. It shall promote activities bordering on: Education, Women Empowerment, Agriculture and Food Security, Women’s Right, Child Protection, Research, Climate change, and Health. HWC-SL is a non-political, non-religious, non-tribal and non-profit making organization.
