CHILD PROTECTION

Hope for Women and Children has created awareness on Child rights and importance of education through seminars to boost the society knowledge on the importance of education and protection of children's rights, worked towards strengthening Child protection and mapping of the relevant Child protection actors and their initiatives.

Hope for Women and Children will adapt approaches that prevent and respond to violence against girls and boys especially those who are separated from their families, sexually assaulted, subject to early marriage. Our organization will ensure decisions, policies and processes that must involve children through Child participation. Hope for Women and Children, Child protection work is guided by the International instrument such as the United Nations Convention on the rights of the child (UNCRC) and the African charter on the right and welfare of the child (ACRWC), policies and legal frameworks with the child protection sector. Key focus areas include: child marriage, child Trafficking, and child labour, commercial sexual exploration of children, education and general child protection in emergencies. Hope for Women and Children, strengthen communities in which children grow up to be places of safety and protection, and the front line of child protection system, and strengthen case management.

Children's are not supposed to be carrying heavy loads on their heads, instead they should be helped to acquire education which will capacitate them for the Future. The organization has taken a step to support these pupils by providing them with learning materials.

EVIDENCE OF CHILD LABOUR

Hope for Women and Children- Sierra Leone is also concerned about the well-being of children as well. As the organisation is gravely against child labour, hope for Women and Children- Sierra Leone picked some of these children from the streets and put them in schools by assisting them in buying their school Materials. Hope for Women and Children- Sierra Leone is kindly asking all donor partners in development to assist as the organization is constraint in teams of finance to implement big projects.

Hope for Women and Children-Sierra Leone held a meeting on the 10th March, 2022, with some stakeholders in the calaba-town community on the basis of educating them on the issues of child labour that the organization is against.
